She overcomes the tension between the medium and the provocative statement through her masterful command of the material with almost playful ease. Sonja Yakovleva, in addition to traditional paper cuts, also presents monumental cutter paper cuts specifically produced for the exhibition. Under the motto

"Beauty Saves the World," her works are statements on the topics of sexuality, physicality, and fitness from a distinctly contemporary perspective that also addresses the issue of self-optimization in the beauty and fitness industry.
