Sirens, Storms, and flying Saucers emerge in Lipchik’s new works as he plays with fragmented figurative bodies engaged with natural, supernatural, and mythological forces. Although heroic in scale the paintings are stripped of white male heroism. Awkward figures are disembodied amongst queering digitized narratives in digitized theatre sets. Ideas of camp and humour come forward as notions of little green men and seductive sirens play with irony.
